My Training

Karen with IIN Founder Joshua RosenthalAfter completing a triple masters degree in gerontology, social work and therapeutic recreation, I decided to do post graduate work in the field of natural health.  My initial education in the field of natural health began with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which was affiliated with Columbia University.
I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
After completing that program, I did another two years of education through Certified Natural Healthcare Professionals, where I studied, in depth, countless modalities to help others create a lifetime of vibrant health.  Upon completion, I earned the certification CNHP, Certified Natural Healthcare Professional. I continually advance my education by taking workshops and seminars and training modules through Capstone, Apex Energetics, and ACAM (American College for Advancement in Medicine.  Current certification includes Body Systems, Iridology; Symptoms A-Z; Functional Blood Chemistry; ACAM, Arizona conference, including the Female Hormones full day workshop; Bach Flowers; Treating Health Crises with Nutrition; Korean Hand Accupressure; and Functional Endocrinology; Face, Tongue and Nail Analysis; Enzymes (Beginning and Advanced Levels); Body Works; and Muscle Testing, Practicum; Energy Work and more. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and the importance of preventive care. Drawing on my education and experience, I work with clients to help them make the dietary and lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
